Bartek Fogler

Crewe have extended the loan of Polish goalkeeper Bartek Fogler by another month despite the return to fitness for the experienced Steve Phillips.
Whilst loanee keeper Rhys Taylor is currently holding the position between the sticks, Fogler has fallen out of the 18 man squad altogether after losing his place on the bench to Phillips. However, the Polish keeper has impressed enough for Dario to keep him at the club on another month's contract.
Meanwhile, Crewe have been granted permission by Chelsea to play Rhys Taylor in this weekend's FA Cup tie at Tamworth. Whether or not Dario will use him however remains to be seen; it could be an ideal chance for Steve Phillips to get some much needed time out on the pitch.
PFA tribute to young keeper who passed away this week
Dale Roberts was a star in the making at Rushden & Diamond
Dale Roberts was a popular goalkeeper who represented the England C team and played for Conference club Rushden & Diamonds.
Dale had spells with Middlesbrough and Nottingham Forest before continuing his career with Diamonds. His outstanding form earned him the England C Player of the Season award in 2009-10.
Dale Roberts was born at Horden in County Durham on 22 October 1986. His senior football career began as a 16-year-old in 2003 when he joined Middlesbrough as a scholar.
Dale was a regular in the Boro’ s FA Youth cup winning squad in 2004 when he was the back-up keeper to David Knight. At the end of his scholarship in 2005 he signed professional terms for Nottingham Forest and continued his football development at the City Ground.
Dale had a loan spell at Eastwood Town in 2005-06 and spent the whole of the following season loaned out to Alfreton Town. He was a regular on the bench as substitute goalkeeper for Forest during the first half of 2007-08 before being loaned to Rushden & Diamonds in January 2008.
Dale made his debut for Diamonds against Weymouth and stayed at Nene Park for three months. He returned to the City Ground but went back to Rushden for a second loan spell in October 2008. He played regularly in the team and in January 2009 he made the permanent move to Nene Park.
Dale’s form earned him selection for the England C team against Malta U21s. He continued as first choice keeper for Rushden last season and appeared in all four England C internationals. Dale’s outstanding performances earned him the England C Player of the Season award.
He began the current season in the Rushden team with his last appearance coming in the home game against Newport County in September.
Dale passed away on Tuesday. The PFA send their condolences to his family, friends and former colleagues at this sad time.

Frank Fielding

Derby County are all set to enquire about an emergency loan for Blackburn goalkeeper Frank Fielding report today’s Daily Mail.
Regular between the sticks Stephen Bywater has been ruled out for a while due to injuring his wrist.
He has been told by club doctors he had sustained a small fracture, and although Derby believe Bywater will be out for weeks rather than months, manager Nigel Clough is keen to tie up a temporary deal for a goalkeeper.
Fielding is behind Paul Robinson at Rovers and the club are prepared to allow the goalkeeper to go on loan.
Manager Nigel Clough told the club website: ‘Stephen’s injury is a concern to us, but we are not prepared to put a timeframe on it just yet.’
He added: ‘Stephen is the sort of character who will want to play regardless and it might be important in this instance that we look after him and ensure he doesn’t make the injury worse.’
Guillermo Ochoa

Premier League dream still alive for Mexican goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa despite Fulham snub
Mexico goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa remains keen on a move to England despite seeing a move to Fulham fall through.
The 25-year-old has returned to employers Club America after spending his vacation in London in an attempt to clinch a move to Craven Cottage.
Fulham boss Mark Hughes denied at the weekend that Ochoa had been on trial in west London and the Mexico City club have responded by confirming: ‘Club America and our player Guillermo Ochoa, due to conditions imposed by Fulham, could not reach an agreement in accordance with the best interest of the club and our player.
‘The club maintains its position of supporting our goalkeeper’s wish to move to European football if an opportunity presents itself, and that is satisfactory to Ochoa and for America.’
It has been suggested that the Mexicans wanted in excess of £8million for a player who has only six months left on his contract.
Although ‘Memo’ wants to make the move to Europe, he does not want to hurt his club by leaving on a free and is even considering a contract extension.
Arsenal and Manchester United have also been linked and are obviously more likely to make a move if no fee is involved.
In the spotlight: Ochoa has caught the eye at Club America
A move in January has not been ruled out, but Ochoa has returned to training with Club America and he said: ‘For the moment I can’t speak too much.
‘I can only say that I had some conversations with the people of the team that invited me to England and that I accepted because I was on my holidays.
‘Without any doubt I can say that I always had the dream of playing in Europe, I think that every player has that dream.
‘I still belong to America and from what I know there hasn’t been any arrangement between the clubs yet. There are conversations, I hope they advance quickly.’
Jason Steele

Middlesbrough star delighted to end transfer talk
02:15 PM 14 December, 2010
Jason Steele is delighted to have signed a new deal at Middlesbrough Football Club.
The 20-year-old has established himself as the number one goalkeeper at the Riverside Stadium this season, and his performances have seen him linked with a move to Aston Villa.
However, Steele ended all speculation over his future by signing a new deal with the Championship club, which is set to run until the summer of 2015.
“I'm delighted to have signed so I can now concentrate on helping us get out of the situation we find ourselves in and then push on for bigger and better things,” he told the official club site.
"I told the manager that this is where I want to be and where I want to play football. That was all he wanted to hear and it was all sorted very quickly."
